My first So Cal earthquake

Hey! I just had my 1st earthquake in Cali! A 5.8, no damage- at least in my area. Have some pretty freaked out kitties, but everything is OK. Nothing fell, still have power. Just generating a lot of news coverage, but no pictures of damage or gore.

I recall the 2001 Nisqually quake in Seattle - it was a 6.8, and that one was a real rattler. I could see the rolling of the floor. That one was awesome!

I'm glad you're OK!

I remember my first CA earthquake... We were newlyweds (my DH is from CA, and I'm from Virginia), asleep in bed in the middle of the night. I woke up enough to hear and see the vertical blinds moving and shaking, and my husband told me we were having an earthquake. I said, "Nah, it's just the military aircraft going overhead," (which really did happen a lot with much noise and vibration!). I was wrong--he was right. We woke up the next morning to a call from my slightly worried parents in Virginia. They had the map book open and knew the exact location of the epicenter, etc. I was still surprised that it was even a real earthquake. :)

Congrats -- as I mentioned over on my blog, you scooped the entire blogosphere: you were the first blogger on the Internet to post anything about the earthquake, according to Google. :)

Thanks Davene!

I've been through a couple having lived on the West coast all my life. The worst part is not knowing, at the very beginning, is how bad it's going to be. Fortunately, it was only about 20 seconds. My first call was to my hubby, and then to my fam in WA to let them know all is well - just a little rattled!

That's for checking on me!

OK so I am a bit behind. Earthquake? WHAT?! WOW glad you are ok since I must have been stuck in a cave yesterday.... One day at the Dr and you miss all the good stuff. That is cool that you were the first to blog aobut it. Are you famous now? Can I have your autograph? Did the baby like it? Who needs Tower of Terror when you have earthquakes?!
XOXO T
